OUR BACKGROUND

Together, we have raised 3 incredible children,  Mikayla (25), Jai (22) and Elijah (18). Our boys both live with multiple medical complexities which has necessitated multiple hospital stays and various forms of therapy throughout their childhood. I often refer to our journey as being quite the roller-coaster ride! 

  Paul is a retired small animal veterinarian and I am a retired early childhood teacher.

Mikayla is now living her dream life in London – performing in Frozen the musical, on the West End. Jai & his partner Taliah, are the owners of Odyssey Support Services- a wonderful company that provides after school programs, Adventure days and Adventure camps for children 8-18 years old, living with special needs. Eli is just finishing his Bachelor of Music and is about to start a Bachelor of Digital and Interactive Game Design.

Our sons, between them, live with Hydrocephalus with VP Shunts, Eosynophyllic Oesophigits, Mal-absorbtion/Mal-digestion, Gastrostomies with tube feeding, Aquired Brain Injury, Giftedness and Autism (Level 1 & 3). Personally, I’m living with a newly aquired spinal chord injury that has taken me into a new world of experiences, navigating life now requiring permanent use of a power wheelchair and a huge change from being a full time carer and homeschool Mum, to a person now requiring care myself.

I’ve always felt that things in life happen for a reason – although we may not understand that reason for many years into the future. I feel that our families life experiences have led us to this next chapter in bringing the long held dream of creating a therapy centre where our clients can enjoy the calming effects of interacting with animals in an outdoor environment.
